Inspiration behind the Where's WANDA? book series.

FROM PAIN TO PURPOSE: THE JOURNEY BEGINS.

On April 1, 2007--that was Easter and April's day--I tragically lost my father--three days before his birthday--in a head-on collision in Oklahoma City. I was in shock when I received the call from my brother.

See I didn't meet my father until college for the first time and I thought I had a lifetime to catch up with him. Until 6 years later would I have believed he would become my angel? We both shared the love of food and  family history. That love fuels me daily. He died with dreams inside of him as a retired Oklahoma City Fire Corporal who wanted to open a restaurant in downtown Oklahoma City. He was a fabulous cook for the fire department and for me on my trips back home. The most powerful lesson I learned is to live life with no regrets!

So I turned that pain by honoring his spirit  into my purpose of showcasing our shared love. That's why I  created NativSol Kitchen with a motto: "come back home" because that's where you will find love. And for me that's where I found comfort, memories, journey to my ancestral home of Nigeria for soul completion. And by coming home I was brought my gifts in nutrition and only to find WANDA: Women Advancing Nutrition Dietetics and Agriculture. From traveling to Africa and teaching classes through NativSol, empowering our women and girls became clear that our community will be whole, healthy and nourished.
